Stage Clause
- You cannot pick the stage you last won on.
Set Procedure
- Characters are picked through smash.gg in a double-blind format.
- 1-2-1 Striking format. Lower seed strikes one first, higher seed strikes two, lower seed strike one to leave with one last stage to play on.
- In all games after the first one, the winner of the preceding game bans 2 stages if Bo3 set/1 stage if Bo5 set, and the loser picks one of the remaining stages to play on. The winner of the preceding game may choose to change characters, then the looser of the preceding game may choose to change characters. The next game is played
- Repeat the last step until the set is done.
ONLINE TOURNAMENT RULES
- Anyone who does not check-in by the start of the tournament is subject to total disqualification from the event. Anyone who is not present by the time the according check-in and DQ timer has ended on smash.gg, or has been tagged and non-responsive in the Discord is subject to disqualification from said set.
- You are allowed to gentleman stages during the stage striking procedure. If smash.gg does not allow you to chose the stage that has been agreed upon due to Stage Clause, chose another stage and play it out according to your gentleman's agreement. 3 Bo3 until Winners/Losers/Grand Finals which are Bo5
RESULTS, DISPUTES, AND ONLINE LAG
- The minimum recommended speeds are 5Mbps upload and 15Mbps download, plus a low ping. Please use http://speedtest.net to find your internet connection speed. Although not required, we highly recommend hooking up your Switch with an Ethernet LAN adapter or similar to maintain a stable connection with your router & opponent. You might also be required to post a speed test from your Switch.
- A lag test isn’t required before officially starting a set, but it’s HIGHLY recommended that one is done. Both parties should be clear on whether they both want one done or not. This counts as a handwarmer/button-check -- so therefore, players must quit when they're done and then officially start the match. We recommend the lag test being only 30 seconds to prevent too much time being taken up.
- In the case of a dispute regarding the results, both parties should not only have replays to use as evidence, but images of their victory screen. Images have metadata that will tell users the time said images were taken, and that time can be compared to the time stamps in the chat logs. Screencaps are also usual if the conversation is private. This all may sound impractical, but this rule must be here as a reference since it is the best solution. Hopefully, this issue will NEVER actually occur.
- If you play out a full set with a laggy player and only after the set is complete do you complain about it, you will have accepted the results of the set, and they are final.
- Only one player per console.
