Event Rules

⚔️ Tournament structure ⚔️

Celebrations are structured as a two-stage tournament:

  • On the first day, a Swiss-system Best-of-One (Bo1) format will be held, with a sufficient number of rounds to determine a Top Cut of 16 players. Each round will last a maximum of 30 minutes.
  • Players that won't check-in between 8:55pm and 9:55pm the 30th November will be dropped from the whole tournament.
  • The second day will feature the conclusion of the event with a Best-of-Three (Bo3) single-elimination bracket. Each Bo3 will have a time limit of 1h15 min.

🧱 Deck construction rules 🧱

  • A deck must contain a minimum of 39 non-Hero cards plus exactly 1 Hero card.
  • All cards in your deck must be of the same faction as your Hero card.
  • You may have a maximum of 3 copies of a card with the same name, regardless of rarity.
  • You may have a maximum of 15 Rare cards in your deck.
  • You may have a maximum of 3 Unique cards in your deck.

Players will be required to provide an official link of their tournament decklist to the Celebration admin before the event start.

Match Rules

⏲️ Organized Play Time Limit End of Round Procedure ⏲️

  • When time is called in a round, the players will finish the current day.
  • Players will then play a single other day. After Dusk, before Night, if either player has less regions between their Hero and Companion than the other player, that player will win the game.
  • If players are tied on region distance, immediately refer to "Arena" tiebreaker rules (the player who wins the majority of region types wins the game). If the players are still tied, the round result is a tie.

  • Swiss stage start the 30th November at 10am CET (GMT+1) and should end around 3pm CET.
    • Mandatory check-in will happen between 8:55am and 9:55am CET.
  • Top Cut the 1st December will start at 1pm CET (GMT+1) and end around 7pm CET.

✍️ Sign-up ✍️

Registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis and managed here. You must submit a link to your decklist (official link from altered website)

🚪 Registration fee 🚪

In response to feedback received from the community on Discord, a nominal entry fee of €5 will be required to participate. The entirety of the funds collected will be allocated to enhance the prize pool for both the upcoming celebration and the final tournament, with 80% directed towards the celebration and 20% towards the final event.

This fee will be collected on paypal to leo.colmet.daage@gmail.com with Friends and Family setting and add your gamer tag to your sending.

  • Top 3-4 : 10%
  • Top 5-8 : 5%

🌐 Platform 🌐

All matches will take place on Board Game Arena (BGA). Each participant is required to compete using a single account connected to altered website and must utilize the same deck throughout the tournament. Unexpected check of the decklist used across multiple rounds may occur.

🟣 Broadcast 🟣

One game per round during the Swiss stage, as well as the final bracket, will be showcased on the ExAlts Twitch channels ExAlts_fr and/or Altered Academy with a 10-minute delay. You must agree that your game could be streamed during the event.
