Schedule

Bracket begins Friday evening at 6:05pm PST. Scheduling updates will be posted in the Fro Fridays discord.

Matches will then proceed normally until top 8. If you make it to top 8, you will be asked to hold your match (Winners Semifinals or Losers Quarter-Finals) until losers has caught up. This wait may be upwards of 30 minutes, just be forewarned.

Additional Event Rules

All matches are Bo3 until Winners Finals, with it, Losers Semi-Finals, Losers Finals and Grand Finals being Bo5 sets.

Auto DQ timers before Top 8 are set to 7 minutes, with 10 minutes for Round 1. Be sure to check in immediately once available. Once everyone is checked in, if you have not engaged in beginning a match within 10 minutes, a moderator may be called to check in and give a warning based on the circumstances. Moderators are capable of administering judgments including disqualification per their judgment of the circumstances of the delay. Wilful delay of sets will not be tolerated.

Most if not all of the Top 8 will be streamed. When you reach Winners Semifinals or Losers Quarterfinals, please confirm with Fro before checking in and starting your match. Winners side Top 8 will be delayed until Losers can catch up to an extent.

Ethernet Adapters required. If your match is unplayable due to your connection, you will be need to provide evidence of a wired connection (you will need to provide a screenshot of your monitor displaying your current in-game Smash Ultimate tag and current connection like so: https://i.imgur.com/4i3lEXS.jpg). If evidence is brought forth of a connection error that the players cannot agree to play on, a given moderator or Fro will determine the match outcome. Fro will not be availble to resolve non-livestream set issues, therefore moderators have final judgment on connection issues.

If you have a medical emergency, dinner has arrived or there is a family complication requiring a break, please check-in to your match in Smash.gg, let your opponent know what's going on in chat and message Fro in the discord (@Fro). That said, If the moderator team or Fro decides you are engaging in willful and repeated stalling or deliberate tactics of obfuscation, you will be disqualified from bracket per their decision.

Bracket Ruleset & Stage Banning Procedures (Modified DSR)

Fro Fridays uses Smash.gg's Small Battlefield Ruleset

This bracket uses the following ruleset:

  • 3 stocks, 7:00 minutes.
  • Items, Spirits, Amiibos, Stage Hazards etc.: Off
  • Legal stages include:

++ Starters - Battlefield, Final Destination, Smashville, Small Battlefield, Pokemon Stadium 2

+++ Counterpicks after game 1 - Town & City, Lylat Cruise, Kalos Pokemon League, Yoshi's Story

  • You and your opponent may gentlemen (agree to) to any legal stage for Game 1, starter or counterpick. If this is agreed upon, just perform the stage striking asked in smash.gg and pick a stage among the starters but play on your agreed upon stage. As long as there is a record in your Smash.gg chat that you agreed to gentlemen to a stage for game 1, you will be fine but please follow the tasks to completion.

  • Modified DSR: Before counterpicking in the second game of the match, the winning player(s) get 3 bans. The losing player(s) cannot go to the last stage they won on. (though you and your opponent may gentlemen to that stage if agreed to)

  • One final reminder to please, please fill out all of your tasks including stage selection and character choice as it is helpful for Top 8 graphics and to give commentary more information to go off on.

Coast2Coast Circuit

This bracket is one of 13 events that counts toward the Coast2Coast Smash Circuit. Entry into a minimum of 4 events of the 13 that comprise the Circuit will allow for you to be elligible for the Circuit Finale on Friday, February 19th.
