Event Rules
We will be following the Evo 2020 ruleset:
- Game Settings: 3 Stock, 7 Minutes, Final Smash Meter: Off, Spirits: Off, Damage Handicap: Off,
- Stage Selection: Anyone, Items: Off and None, First to: 1 Win, Stage Morph: Off, Stage Hazards: Off, Team Attack: On, Launch Rate: 1.0x, Underdog Boost: Off, Pausing: Off, Score Display: Off, % Show Damage: Yes, Custom Balance: Off, Echo Fighters: Separate, Radar: Big,
- 2/3 Games
- Allowed Controllers: Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Pro Controller, Nintendo Joy-Con, SmashBox
- Mii Fighters: All moveset combinations are legal
- Amiibo’s are banned.
- Starter stages: Battlefield, Final Destination, Pokémon Stadium 2, Smashville, Town And City
- Counter-pick stages: Kalos Pokémon League, Lylat Cruise, Yoshi’s Island (Brawl), Yoshi’s Story
- First stage is decided by (Rock Paper Scissors) best of 1. Winner may choose to either strike a stage first or select a port first. Stages are struck in a P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
- Following stages decided by winner striking two stages from all stages and then loser choosing.
- Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
- You may not pick any stage you have previously won on during the set unless mutually agreed to.
- You may not play on a stage that is not on the available stages list. This will result in a double disqualification.
- If a game ends with a self-destruct move, the results screen will determine the winner.
- Sudden Death with tied percentage/stock will result in a 1 stock/2 minutes playoff match.
- There will be no loading anything on to the tournament consoles.
Tournament Rules
Riverside's first Covid compliant smash bros tournament
- If you are experiencing fever, coughing, or any symptoms of Covid-19 we please ask you not to attend the tournament.
- Players must wear a mask at all times inside the venue
- Players are subject to temperature checks with a touchless thermometer before they are let into the tournament
- No sharing of controllers between players, Players must bring and use their own controllers for the entirety of the tournament
- We ask players to please social distance from each other ( 6ft )
- All payment transactions for tournament fees will be made online through Smash.gg before the start time of the tournament. No cash will be exchanged or will be allowed to pay for tournament fees at this time.
- Players are required to have some sort of online banking to be able to receive winnings (ex: Paypal, Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle, etc.)
- We will not be taking in person tournament registration at this time. All tournament registration will be done online before the deadline (before 5pm the date of the tournament)
- If players do not register and pay dues before the deadline, they will not be able to play in the tournament, no exceptions *There will be a Tournament zone established during the tournament that only Tournament players will be able to access, at this time there will be no friendlies or non tournament play available.
- Tournaments will allow spectators on a first come, first serve basis outside the tournament area as the venue capacity allows under Covid compliance. Screens will be provided for spectators to view all tournament matches
- Players will be given one warning if they violate any of these rules durning the tournament
- If players continue to violate these rules after the warning, they will be disqualified from the tournament with no refund and ejected from the venue
