Tournament Rules
The format is Ultimate Doubles with Double Elimination. Matches will be best of 3 with the ruleset mentioned below. The Winner's Finals, Loser’s Finals and Grand Finals will be best of 5.
- Ruleset: 3 Stock
- Time Limit: 7 minutes
- Items: Off
- FS Meter: Off
- Spirits: On
- Damage Handicap: Off
- Stage Hazard Toggle: Off
- Final Smash Meter: Off
- Stage Morph: Off
- Launch Rate: 1.0x
- Underdog Boost: Off
Miis: Mii Fighters and all respective custom moves are allowed.
Out of Time: If time runs out, the winner is first determined by how many stocks remain, and then by the percentage after time is up. If both stock and percentage are the same, or a game ends in both players losing their last stock at the same time, then a tiebreaker is played, which consists of a 1 stock and 3 minute match with the same characters and the same stage.
Spirit Format: The Spirit Format is required for all games in this tournament and the spirit sets must be accurate to Version 14.1 of the format. If you suspect your opponent is not using the correct setup, you may start a dispute and contact an admin if they refuse to check. Be smart about this. Your game may be invalidated if you are found violating this rule and you will suffer disqualification with multiple intentional violations.
- Echo Expansion is permitted.
- Forbidden Fighters are only permitted if both players in the match agree to it.
Stage List: Starting Stages:
- Battlefield
- Final Destination
- Pokemon Stadium 2
- Town and City
- Smashville
Counterpick Stages:
- Small Battlefield
- Lylat Cruise
- Kalos Pokemon League
- Yoshi's Island
- Northern Cave
Stage Selection: Due to using a custom ruleset involving the Spirit Format, we will not have the pleasure of having automated stage selections. Stage selection will instead take place over chat. At the beginning of the first match, Player 1 (which can be either player), will strike one of the five starting stages. Then Player 2 will strike two of the remaining four starting stages. Player 1 will then choose the stage out of the two remaining stages.
For the second match, all counterpick stages will be in play. The player that won the first match will strike two of the ten stages and the other player will then decide on the stage for the second match. This will apply for all subsequent matches between the two players. For these matches, Dave's Stupid Rule will apply in standard function. This rule essentially means you cannot select the same stage you won on last in a match. For instance, if player A wins on Smashville and player B wins on FD, player A cannot choose Smashville as the next stage.
For doubles, the decisions for a single player become the decision of the team.
Disputes: Any disputes during matches will be resolved by contacting the admin on Discord if they cannot be resolved between the two players. The admin(s) have the final say.

READ THIS BEFORE JOINING THE TOURNAMENT.
- This tournament is a Spirit Format Tournament, this is NOT vanilla Smash Bros Ultimate. Join the discord to get more information on the Spirit Format. Do not join this tournament if you are not aware of Spirit Format.
- The Spirit Format is a method of using spirits to balance all of Ultimate's characters in the metagame. This is done by assigning every single character in the game, a particular set of spirits in order to apply specific buffs and create a new, more balanced, meta. This is NOT a format where you can use whatever spirit you want. You MUST use what is dictated by the Spirit Format. Which spirits you need are detailed on the Discord server.
