Stage Selection
The stage for the first game of a set must be a starter stage. Starter stages are banned in a 1-2-1 order, with smash.gg determining who bans first. After the first game, the winner will ban three stages from the entire stage list (starters and counterpicks). The loser will then choose a stage from the entire list.
Players can skip the stage selection process or go to any stage in game with the consent of their opponent (gentleman selection).
A reminder that the winner of the previous game must select their character first.
Set Length Reminder
All sets are best-of-3 until Winners Semis and Losers Quarters, when all sets become best-of-5.
Tournament Rules
There is a zero tolerance harassment policy at TriFi events. Anyone who is found to be harassing any person at the event, including spectators and unaffiliated students, faculty and staff, will be immediately disqualified and removed from the venue. Please report any incidents to a tournament organizer.
Lag tests will be provided by tournament admins in the case of significant lag, which is definied as the game pausing, or noticable input delay. In the event of significant lag, both players will enter an arena with a designated admin who is known to have a stable internet connection. Both players will begin a match with the admin, and should a player be found to have significant lag, they will be issued a match loss by DQ.
Have fun!
