View all rulesAll sets in the tournament will be played in a specific combination of five matches. Every match grants one point to a team and the team to first reach three points wins the set.
- Game 1: 2v2
- Game 2: 1v1 Smashdown
- Game 3:1v1 Smashdown (characters chosen in game 2 cannot be picked anymore)
- Game 4: 1v1 Smashdown (characters chosen in game 2 + 3 cannot be picked anymore)
- Game 5: 3v3 Squad Strike
All players in a team will have to participate in the set within the first three matches. For example, if players A and B play in the first game, player C has to play either in game 2 or 3. No player can play Smashdown twice.
- All games have Smash Balls turned on with items low.
- Stage hazards: Off
- Mii characters are banned.
- No stage can be picked twice in a set.
- In grand finals all games are best of 3.

Smashdown
The rules are the same as in Ultimate Singles except for the stagelist and the modes own specific rules which are as follows:
- Max battles: 35 (all matches will obviously not be played)
- Mercy rule: off
Squad Strike
The rules are the same as in Ultimate Singles except for the stagelist and the modes own specific rules which are as follows:
- Style: Elimination
- Victor's Recovery: 0
