Tournament Rules

Smash Ultimate singles. RULES:

-STEVE ONLY. By joining this event you're confirming that you purchased Steve and that you will have him available for the day of the tournament. You can't counterpick characters, but of course you can choose the Alex, Zombie and Enderman skins!

-Stock: set to 3 stocks.

-Timer: set to 7 minutes.

-Items: OFF.

-Stage hazards: OFF.

-Final smash meter: OFF.

-Other settings: spirits off, damage handicap off, stage morph off, launch rate 1.0x, underdog boost off.

-LAN: LAN won't be required this time but we encourage you to have it anyways. It makes the experience better for everyone and we'd hate to DQ someone due to lag issues.

STAGES:

If you play on either Battlefield or Final Destination, we encourage you to pick the BF/FD variants of Minecraft World, Steve's stage!

-Starters: Battlefield, Final Destination, Smashville, Pokemon Stadium 2, Town & City.

-Counterpicks: Kalos Pokemon League, Yoshi's Story (Melee), Small Battlefield.

-Striking stages format:

GAME 1: each player will strike two of the starter stages and the game will be played on the remaining stage.

GAME 2 AND FURTHER: winner of the previous game strikes 2 stages and then the loser will pick one of the remaining stages.

-DSR is ON (you may not pick any stage you previously won on during the set).

Double elimination bracket. Everything will be best of 3. Only all of top 8 will be best of 5.

-Auto timer: this will be set to 10 minutes for round 1 and to 5 minutes for all the further rounds. Please make sure to have your bracket open and everything else ready to check in. Not checking in on time will result in a DQ.

We're looking forward to having you! We hope to bring you an event of quality.

NOTES:

-Lag issues: If there are any issues with the connection, players must request a TO to perform a lag test (a TO will join your arena, both players will play a 60 seconds game and the TO will use a lag tester to see who's causing it). Lag tests WON'T be performed if a set is already over. If you notice lag since game 1, quit the match and ask for the lag test. The sooner the better. The player reported to be causing the issues will be sent to losers side. If this situation happens in losers side, the player will be out of the tournament.

-Timeout rules: If there is a timeout that causes a sudden death, the player with the lower percent (this includes decimals) or the highest amount of stocks will win the match, and the sudden death will NOT be considered to decide the winner. If the two players have the exact same percent (including decimals) when the timeout happens, they will have to play a 1 stock 3 minutes match to decide the winner of that game. If a timeout didn't happen, but both players lost their last stock at the same time, the sudden death won't be considered to decide the winner and they will have to play the 1 stock 3 minute match.

-Self destruction moves: If a match finishes with a "self destruction" move (like Ganondorf's side b, Chrom's up b, Bowser's side B, DK's cargo throw offstage, etc.) the winner of that game will be determined by the result screen.

-Splitting: Any instances of players fixing matches to meet in future rounds, or splitting the prize will result in a DQ and the players involved won't be getting any money.

DISCLAIMER: players must have appropriate behavior/decorum. All TOs will be able to review match chat if necessary. If you lost, just move on. If there's lag, request a mod. Keep your sportsmanship.
