Match Rules
Overwatch 2
1. General Match Format
- Game Modes:
- Control (best of 3 rounds)
- Escort
- Hybrid
- Push
- Match Format: Best-of-5 (Bo5) series.
- Team Size: 5v5 (2 Damage, 2 Support, 1 Tank).
2. Map Pool
- Control: Lijiang Tower, Ilios, Nepal, Oasis, Busan.
- Escort: Dorado, Route 66, Junkertown, Watchpoint: Gibraltar.
- Hybrid: King’s Row, Eichenwalde, Midtown, Hollywood.
- Push: New Queen Street, Colosseo, Esperança.
3. Game Mode Objectives
- Control: First team to win two rounds. Teams compete to control a central point.
- Escort: Teams must escort a payload through checkpoints. The team that pushes it the farthest wins.
- Hybrid: Teams capture a point first, then escort a payload.
- Push: Teams push a robot toward the opponent’s side. The team that pushes it the farthest within the time limit wins.
4. Hero Rules
- Hero Selection: All heroes are allowed unless banned by tournament organizers or Blizzard.
- Hero Pools: This may be implemented depending on balancing updates.
- Hero Limits: 1 of each hero per team (no duplicates).
5. Role Lock
- Teams must follow the 2-2-1 format:
- 2 Damage (DPS)
- 2 Support
- 1 Tank
6. Substitutions
- Teams can make substitutions between maps, but the substituted player must be registered on the roster.
7. Match Rules
- Control of Objectives: Teams must capture and hold objectives to win rounds.
- Overtime: Standard Overwatch 2 overtime rules apply. If the objective is being contested when time expires, the match continues.
- Time Bank: This is used for Escort and Hybrid modes to determine the team’s remaining attack time after the first round.
8. Technical Pauses and Timeouts
- Technical Pauses: Each team is allowed a 10-minute technical pause per match if necessary due to hardware or network issues.
- Timeouts: Teams may be given one timeout per match at the organizer's discretion.
9. Sportsmanship and Conduct
Fair Play: All players are expected to maintain good sportsmanship. Any toxicity, grief, or disrespectful behavior will result in penalties or disqualification.
- Disconnects: The match will continue if a player disconnects after the first fight. If it occurs before the first fight, a restart may be granted.
- Cheating: Using cheats, hacks, or game-breaking exploits will result in immediate disqualification.
10. Tiebreakers
- If a series is tied (2-2), an additional map from the Control game mode will be played to determine the winner.
11. Reporting Matches
- Match Results: Teams must report match results immediately to the tournament organizer after the match concludes.
- Disputes: Any disputes must be raised within 15 minutes after the match ends.
12. Disqualification and Forfeits
- No-Show: Teams must show up within the scheduled time. A failure to appear will result in a forfeit.
- Disruptive Behavior: Violating the conduct rules or failure to follow league instructions will result in disqualification.
