Wi-Fi Procedures
Lagtests
In the event a player feels that the connection in the match is unfavorable, they can request a lag-test. This lag-test can occur before any game on the arena screen, but not mid-match. The procedure is as follows:
- 1. A player calls for a lag-test before a game begins. They call for a moderator via the smash.gg chat.
- 2. Both players must provide proof of LAN and confirm that they are indeed playing on a wired connection. If a player is missing a LAN adapter, then that player is automatically disqualified from the entire tournament..
- 3. A moderator will conduct a lag-test by joining the game and playing a match with both players, seeing if there's any lags. In the event a moderator themselves cannot join, an approved lagtester will in their stead.
- 4. If there is noticable lag detected from one of the players, the moderator or approved lagtester will deliver the results to Bumble eSports staff and the player will be disqualified.
If both opponents are disqualified through lack of LAN adapter, the person who requested the lagtest will move on but will be instantly DQ'd from the next match. We currently do not have anyone who is able to conduct test via Peer2Peer systems (sable-detect). This is an improvement we're looking to add in the very near future!
