Lagtests
In the event a player feels that the connection in the match is unfavorable, they can request a lag-test. This lag-test can occur before any game on the arena screen, but not mid-match. The procedure is as follows:
  • 1. A player calls for a lag-test before a game begins. They call for a moderator via the smash.gg chat.
  • 2. Both players must provide proof of LAN and confirm that they are indeed playing on a wired connection. If a player is missing a LAN adapter, then that player is automatically disqualified from the entire tournament..
  • 3. A moderator will conduct a lag-test by joining the game and playing a match with both players, seeing if there's any lags. In the event a moderator themselves cannot join, an approved lagtester will in their stead.
  • 4. If there is noticable lag detected from one of the players, the moderator or approved lagtester will deliver the results to Bumble eSports staff and the player will be disqualified.

If both opponents are disqualified through lack of LAN adapter, the person who requested the lagtest will move on but will be instantly DQ'd from the next match. We currently do not have anyone who is able to conduct test via Peer2Peer systems (sable-detect). This is an improvement we're looking to add in the very near future!

Match Resets
A game may be reset in the circumstance that there is a real world barrier prohibiting gameplay in the first ten seconds of the match. No interaction with the stage nor other player must be made (no damage or traps set, like Snake's C4 or Isabelle's Lloyd Rocket).
Disqualification Timers
The disqualification timer will be ten minutes. We understand that IRL situations happen, but for the sake of keeping the tournament on a nice steady pace, we've decided to set the disqualification timer to this amount in order to provide ample leniency for bathroom breaks, dinner, etc. while still allowing the event to run smoothly.
Force Majeure Clause
In the event that a competitor's connection to the online servers are randomly severed (such as the internet getting unplugged, losing power, lan cable becoming unplugged, etc.), the person who severed the connection is at fault and will be disqualified from the game. If they aren't able to reconnect in a timely manner, it will result in a disqualification of the set.
It's the player's responsibility to ensure they're in a safe, stable playing environment.

ALL OF THESE RULES CAN BE MODIFIED AT ANY TIME WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE BY THE TOURNAMENT ORGANIZERS TO ENSURE A BETTER EXPERIENCE.
